Click the button near the top right of any page entitled “Volunteer” or if you are on the homepage, click the words “Volunteer Today!”

Either one of the links from Step 1 will take you to a page where you will be asked to enter some information about yourself, and select interests for which you might volunteer your time. The boxes that have the red asterisk (*) next to them are required. 

After entering information about yourself, you need to select at least one category of interest for which you would like to volunteer. As shown in Figure C, the user has selected four areas of interest. Make your selection(s) and then proceed down the page to enter a password of your choice.

Now you need to create a password that will allow you to login later to check your member profile and log any volunteer hours that you may serve. You can use any combination of numbers and letters, but your password must be between 5 and 10 characters in length. Because you are typing a password, the characters will appear as asterisks (*) in the entry boxes (see Figure D). Write down the password that you use and keep it in a safe place for future reference. Click the submit button.

After submission, a web page will display any organizations that match the interests that you designated on the previous page. You should receive an email from Harris County Citizen Corps verifying your new membership. At this point, you are done with the process of joining!
